Curb Your Cravings

There are several alternatives to help curb your cravings out there.  For example, QuikTrip (QT) gas station also have a Frozen Cappuccino machine.  It's only a couple of bucks so it is almost just half the price of a Starbucks Frappucino.  I really really tried to get hooked on this instead but it just was not quite there yet.  Let me see if I can describe how it tastes.  Imagine a very light coffee in the Slurpee machine with double the cream and some sugar.  It is blended to a very smooth consistency and goes down very well.  Maybe it is just too creamy and not as rich in coffee flavor as the Starbucks version but this might help others out there that may want to slowly stop their Starbucks addiction.  I view the Frozen Cappuccino from QT as a nicotine patch for cigarettes.  It didn't work for me but it might for you.  Good luck...

I used to live in Missouri, near a Quik Trip. I've moved to another state with no QT. Of all the things that I miss about my home state, QT's Frozen Cappuccino ranks among the top. Don't let anyone kid you, for my taste buds, I think the this drink offered by QT is superior to Starbucks (and I've had both). To me, Starbucks' Frappawhatever is an expensive imitation of what QT offers for a great price. To be sure, there are Starbucks in this area, but I really miss (and crave) a Frozen Cappuccino from Quik Trip.

I moved from Dallas to Los Angeles and I am miss the QT Frozen Cappuccino as well. I often drink more then I eat, so the large size and cost are important to me. The QT is pretty damn good for the price and a much better value then the Starbucks one. I just wish I could find the same drink in Los Angeles..

Java Chip Frappuccino vs Starbucks Custom Frappuccino

So my cravings have taken a different turn. My favorite drink at Starbucks is still the Coffee Frappuccino but I have to try something different every once in a while right? Well, so I tried the Java Chip Frappuccino . It was awesome. Not the most awesomest but a great drink nevertheless. It still didn't knock the Coffee Frapp off its pedestal. The java chip added almost but not quite unlike the bubbles or pearl found in bubble tea. It gave just the right kick. But the intense Mocha taste overpowered the whole drink causing it not to be the greatest. However, I think I found something there. Something that was meant to be but have not come to fruition . On my next visit to Starbucks, I asked the barista to make me a custom drink. One that has the base of the Coffee Frapp but with the extra zing of the Java Chip.
